Few places in the world have captured my imagination as much as Mount Desert Island in Maine.  Home to the village of Bar Harbor and a handful of other, as well as home the most of Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island offers a wonderful diversity of experiences -- hiking, biking, climbing, dining, kayaking and sightseeing.  This view from the Park Loop Road is not unusual for the island, as magnificent sights abound.
