Durgin-Park was a staple of Boston culture for centuries. The first restaurant opened here in 1742 before a certain Mr. Durgin and a Mr. Park purchased the restaurant in 1827. It remained open until 2019, at which time it sadly closed. The place was arguably the epicenter of New England food, with regular dishes such as yankee pot roast, baked beans, chowder, and all things that one associates with New England. Only the sign remains as a landmark for this important and memorable place.
