The river Main River winds its way through Marktheidenfeld, Germany, on its way from the east to just beyond Frankfurt, where is joins the Rhine River.  This peaceful shot shows a stretch in the village of Marktheidenfeld on a calm summer afternoon. The river is a corridor of both commerce and pleasure; frequently both river cruise boats and barges pass this area in between locks.  Just behind me is the cobblestone village, complete with the traditional bier garten, serving beer exclusively from the village's brewery, Martinsbrau. It's a wonderful place to be on a summer evening.
