There is nothing plain about Iceland.  When you visit for the first time, you're struck by the amazing beauty of the place.  The contrasts between the mountains and the sea next to each other, the hot volcanic activity and the ice -- all show the the place is one of contrasts.  This is a shot of the Ring Road in the south of the country that gives a good sense of the beauty and contrasts that abound in this stunning nation.
